`J.P.SAUER & SOHN SUHL` on top of slide; `PATENT`on left side of slide; `CAL 7,65 [CAL 6,35] on right of slide. `SAUER Cal 7,65 [or 6,35] moulded into left butt grip; `S & S` moulded into right butt grip. Serial number left side of frame above grip.
Manual Safety Catch left side of frame, behind trigger; UP for safe, DOWN for fire.
Magazine catch at heel of butt. Remove magazine; pull back slide to eject any round in the chamber; inspect chamber through ejection port, release slide, pull trigger.
